The AGI is dedicated to the promotion, protection, and defense of the fundamental rights of citizens, human rights and democracy in Africa. To this end, the AGI will undertake activities aimed at improving mutual understanding, exchanging information, and cooperating with organizations that protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Africa, as well as with other international, national institutions, organizations and companies active in this field.

The activities that the AGI will implement to achieve its objectives include:

• Promoting the values of the Foundation and fostering knowledge, awareness and respect for human rights.
• Establishing collaboration agreements with organizations active in the promotion, protection and defense of citizens' rights.
• Sponsoring and endorsing organizations, groups, associations, committees and other entities that share the values of the Foundation.
• Publishing and distributing periodicals or other publications.
• Organizing and supporting seminars, conferences, missions, delegations and exhibitions.
• Participating in education, research, training, study, analysis and cooperation projects.
• Collecting testimonies from citizens and organizations to highlight proven violations of fundamental rights and, if necessary, referring the matter to the appropriate courts.
